In the genuine spirit of generosity, Orlando Pirates Football Club took a moment from their hectic December schedule to spread holiday cheer to the Tembisa Child and Family Welfare Society. The visit, which occurred just before the highly anticipated Christmas Eve’s Betway Premiership match at home against Marumo Gallants, was a heartfelt gesture aimed at uplifting the disadvantaged during the festive season.
Under the guidance of the club’s media officer, Miss Thandi Merafe, the Orlando Pirates team distributed Christmas presents and food supplies to the organization, bringing joy and optimism to the children. “Christmas is a particularly special time for family gatherings,” stated Merafe. “As a club, we felt it was important to visit the Tembisa Child and Family Welfare and spend time with our young fans. Dreams can come true, and this day holds a special significance for us as it instills hope in the underprivileged that the seemingly impossible can be achieved.”
This initiative reflects the club’s dedication to building stronger ties with the community and promoting the values of compassion, family, and optimism. It also underscores the club’s core beliefs: a duty to excel not only on the field but also to inspire and uplift off the field.
